A new website ships with the cleanest SEO slate it will ever have. Get these fundamentals right on launch day and you will rank faster, for years.
Technical SEO
- Page loads under 2 seconds on mobile
- Core Web Vitals (LCP, CLS, INP) in the green
- HTTPS + valid SSL certificate
- sitemap.xml auto-generated and submitted to Google Search Console
- robots.txt allows crawl of public pages and blocks /admin
- Clean URLs with keywords, no ?id= parameters
- 301 redirects for any old or moved URLs
- Mobile-first responsive layout
On-page SEO
- Exactly one h1 per page, unique and descriptive
- Logical h2 / h3 structure (this article is a template)
- Unique title and meta description per page
- Canonical URL on every page
- Internal links between related pages and products
- Descriptive alt text on every image
- Lazy-loaded, WebP-optimized images
Schema (JSON-LD)
At minimum include Organization, Website, BreadcrumbList, and (where relevant) Product, Service, BlogPosting, FAQ, and LocalBusiness schema.
